Over the last two years I’ve spent a lot of time researching building plots and developing house designs for them. These are low energy houses based on SIPS construction techniques. I hope to soon have some of these on site for clients.
SIPS construction is not necessarily cheaper than traditional but it guarantees far better quality because the whole house wraps around a CNC cut shell.
The cost saving comes where the construction is paid for with borrowed money as the build time can be substantially reduced with work to both outside and inside the building being carried out at the same time, working on a precisely cut shell of a building.
This is a 4 bed timber frame house designed for a developer for a very tight site in Almondsbury. We are currently designing a slightly larger version for a site in Weston Super Mare
