150m stone faced flood defence wall, Sherston
Sherston is near the source of the River Avon which runs through Bath and Bristol.
The textile mill was flooded several years ago. While insurance company paid for the refurbishment which I managed they insisted on a flood defence capable of withstanding a future event which might happen within 500 years.
The concrete wall is faced in local Cotswold stone laid to look like a dry stone wall.
