Housing Development

This is a hard won development of 6 houses on the outskirts of Nailsea.

The houses are designed to have a barn-like quality reflecting the rural location, with primary windows in the gable ends only and no dormers.

The side walls are clad in dark stained timber with the houses differentiated by coloured gables.

The roofs are intended to be fully covered in PV panels. Feed-in tariffs are now derisory and electricity bills are rising rapidly so managing one’s own electricity with PV panels and batteries seems to be the way forward.

An update for 2024. The site is being bought by a developer who has applied to squeeze 9 houses on to the plot.

They are designed with rooms just big enough to comply with minimum space requirements, and they are styled to look really grim.

No wonder developers are so despised!
